Founded in 1938 and known for offering the largest beginner terrain in the Southwest, Arizona Snowbowl is one of the oldest continually operating ski areas in the country. Located 14 miles north of Flagstaff, Arizona, on the San Francisco Peaks and on the highest mountain in Arizona (Humphreys Peak at 12,367 feet), Arizona Snowbowl offers 55 trails, 2,300 lift-served vertical feet and over 3,000 hike-to vertical feet on 777 acres with eight lifts, four terrain parks and three mountain lodges.

With exceptional backcountry access and tree skiing in the winter, Arizona Snowbowl also offers a world-renowned scenic chairlift in the summer that provides stunning views of the red rocks in Sedona, the cinder cone volcanic field, and the rim of the Grand Canyon.

Drone Usage

Commercial or Media Use not operated by the ski area will be coordinated by the ski area.  All approved flights are to be used at the operators’ own risk while adhering to all FAA Part 107 rules and regulations for UAS operations. Notification to the Forest Interagency Aviation Officer at least 24 hours prior to UAS operations is required to help de-conflict airspace with fire aircraft and other forest aviation assets.  UAS operator will notify the Forest Aviation Officer when flights are complete. Commercial Filming by drone may require a separate special use filming and photography permit and will be coordinated by the Forest Service Special Use Administrator.
