Safety

Know your ability level and stay within it. Observe Your Responsibility Code listed below and share with others on the slopes the responsibility for a great snowsports experience.

  1. Always stay in control.

    You must be able to stop or avoid people or objects.

  2. People ahead or downhill of you have the right-of-way.

    You must avoid them.

  3. Stop only where you are visible from above and do not restrict traffic.

    Do not stop where you obstruct a trail, feature, landing or are not visible.

  4. Look uphill and avoid others before starting downhill or entering a trail.

    Look both ways and yield when entering or crossing a road or trail. When overtaking, use caution and yield to those ahead.

  5. You must prevent runaway equipment.

    Know your components and their operation prior to riding.

  6. Read and obey all signs, warnings, and hazard markings.

  7. Keep off closed trails and out of closed areas.

    Stay on marked trails only. Keep off closed trails and features. Ride in the direction indicated.

  8. You must know how and be able to load, ride and unload lifts safely.

    Do not stop where you obstruct a trail, feature, landing or are not visible.

  9. Do not use lifts or terrain when impaired by alcohol or drugs.

    Know how to load, ride and unload lifts safely.

  10. If you are involved in a collision or incident, share your contact information with each other and a ski area employee.

    If involved in or witness to an incident, identify yourself to staff.

  11. Know and follow the code. It is your responsibility.
