Fall is almost here, and one of the most loved times of year on the mountain is right around the corner!
The first official day of fall arrives September 22, and just a few days later, Arizona Snowbowl returns to daily operations starting Friday, September 25. That means more opportunities to head into the high country, breathe in the crisp mountain air, and watch the aspens transform into brilliant shades of yellow and gold.
And this year, there’s a new way to experience the season.
Scenic Gondola & Chairlift Rides This Fall
Scenic Gondola Rides are a fall tradition at Snowbowl, carrying you to 11,500 feet for panoramic views across the San Francisco Peaks and Northern Arizona.
But for a limited time this fall, you’ll have another option!
From October 3–18, Scenic Chairlift Rides on the Grand Canyon Express will operate alongside Scenic Gondola Rides, giving you two completely different ways to take in the changing colors.
Choose the enclosed comfort and high-elevation views of the Arizona Gondola, or hop aboard the Grand Canyon Express for an open-air chairlift ride above the mountain. Better yet, experience both while you’re here!
Whether the aspens are just beginning to turn or the mountain is glowing gold at peak color, there’s nothing quite like seeing fall unfold from above the trees.

Make a Day of Fall at Snowbowl
The scenery may steal the show, but there’s plenty more waiting once you arrive.
Starting September 25, Snowbowl will once again be open daily through the fall season, giving you more time to enjoy Scenic Gondola Rides, mountain dining, disc golf, family activities, and crisp days at 9,500 feet.
Grab lunch or a drink at Agassiz Lodge, explore the mountain, then settle in and enjoy the colors stretching across the slopes.
