Experience the sweeping views of the San Francisco Peaks from our open-air Grand Canyon Express (GCX) chair—only available for a limited time this summer!
Scenic Chairlift Rides will be running in place of the Scenic Gondola for these two weekends, meaning you can enjoy the sun on your face, the wind through your hair, and a different mountain perspective.
When We’re Spinning
GCX will be servicing Scenic Chairlift Rides from 10 AM – 5 PM, Friday – Sunday, on the weekends of:
- September 5—7
- September 12—14
What to Expect on GCX
Just like our Scenic Gondola Rides (which are scheduled to return Friday, September 19), your Scenic Chairlift Ride ticket comes with $10 Bowl Bucks and is good for unlimited rides on the day of your visit!
Each round-trip lasts approximately 20-30 minutes, for your ultimate viewing pleasure.
Plan Ahead—Make it a Great Day
- Dress in layers: Mountain weather changes quickly; a light jacket is your friend.
- Sun & hydration: High elevation = strong sun; pack sunscreen and water.
- Footwear: Closed-toe, secure shoes recommended for loading/unloading.
- Arrive early: Give yourself time for parking, tickets, and that first deep breath of alpine air.
