Raising a Skier
When we met local Flagstaff family, Chris and Amy, over the summer, we fell in love with their zest for adventure and dedication to passing skiing on to future generations. Their eldest daughter, Porter, is 3-years old and is in her second season of skiing. We followed Porter and her family (including her grandparents!) around our beginner terrain, Hart Prairie, to see what it takes to grow the next generation of little rippers.
Chris has taken the reigns (literally) and is teaching his daughter himself. If you want your kids to be lifelong skiers (or snowboarders!), you can trust our professional ski school instructors to teach them foundational skills that will improve their abilities and create good habits that they can use and enjoy the rest of their lives. Besides, as any loving, devoted parent can tell you, your kids often learn best when they’re receiving direction from someone other than you.
Skiing and riding together as a family is one of the greatest and most rewarding experiences a powder-loving parent can have and we hope to see you and yours on the mountain!
