Arizona Snowbowl is the premier “learn to ride” mountain in the Southwest!

Lessons are the most efficient way for you to learn how to ski and snowboard in a fun and safe environment. Learning to ski or board at Arizona Snowbowl is a fun, interactive, and free-flowing experience. By combining the expert knowledge of our instructors and perfectly-sculpted snow features, you or your child will be sliding and having more fun than ever! With 5 learning elements, 2 conveyor belt lifts, and 2 chairlifts, our instructors will help you progress at a pace that is fit for you. 

Whether you’re new to the sport, looking to improve your exciting skills, or wanting to try something a bit different, our talented instructors can help you achieve your goals. Lessons are the most efficient way for you to learn how to ski and snowboard in a fun and safe environment. 

Our school is certified with the Professional Ski Instructors of America and the American Association of Snowboard Instructors. 

Children's Lessons

The Arizona Snowbowl Ski & Ride School is proud to offer specialized lesson programs for children ages 4-7 and 8-12. Our exciting SkiWee and MiniRider programs are tailored for 4-7 year olds, while our Mountain Kids programs for 8-12 year olds emphasize independent learning and confidence building for older kids. All lesson programs focus on fun and skill development in a relaxed, easygoing learning environment. The safety and needs of all participants is our highest priority, and our instructors are trained to adapt teaching styles to different ability levels and personalities.

Teen & Adult Lessons

Whether it’s your first time on the slopes or you’re looking to improve your skills, everyone can benefit from a lesson. The Arizona Snowbowl Ski & Ride School offers lessons for skiers and riders age 13 and over at any ability level, so you work on everything from learning to glide on snow to high-speed carving and bumps.

FREE Lessons 13+

Beginner snowboarders and skiers can enjoy a FREE group lesson with the purchase of a ticket starting as low as $49*. Designed for first-timers, the Snow Experience at Arizona Snowbowl is a 2-hour lesson taught in our Snow Experience area. You can only redeem the lesson on the same day as the ticket purchase.

Private Lessons

Looking for personalized, one-on-one attention? A private lesson is an ultimate way of learning for you or a small group of your friends and family. Whether you’re just learning how to ski or snowboard for the first time, or are looking to take your skiing and riding to the next level, our instructors are trained to teach all types of lessons from beginner to advanced.

Snowburners

If your young skier or snowboarder is age 4-17 and excited about the upcoming winter season, Snowburners is their gateway to learning or improving their skiing and riding skills. Snowburners participants meet once a week for 8 weeks, December–March on your choice of Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays. Students must be of age by the start of class. Space is limited and classes are filled first-come, first-served.

Adaptive Program

At Arizona Snowbowl, we strongly believe that there are no limits in learning to ski or snowboard. The Ski and Snowboard School offers a specialized adaptive skiing/snowboarding program that helps you build your confidence, improve your fitness level, make new friends, and find a new passion for winter sport. Professionally trained instructors work with a range of disabilities.
