Children’s Lessons 4-12

Smiling girl at Arizona Snowbowl

22/23 lesson information will be available soon!

Is your child ready to hit the slopes? Our children’s lesson programs are geared towards safety, fun, and positive experiences on the slopes and give children ages 4-12 the opportunity to learn to ski and ride! Each lesson program is tailored to your child’s skill level and provides your child with the confidence to ski and snowboard independently while amplifying the stoke of their sport.

Throughout the month of April, all children’s lessons will focus on beginner skill levels only. All lessons during the month of April–Weather Permitting, will be taught on the conveyor belts, no aerial lifts will be used for lessons.

*All lessons must be purchased online and in advance. Day-of lessons will not be available for purchase upon arrival. All lessons are subject to availability. *

All children ages 12 and younger ski FREE everyday at Arizona Snowbowl. Please note, lessons are not included with the FREE Power Kids Pass and must be purchased separately.

Important Information

Please note that rentals are not included with the price of the lesson. Rentals must be added online at time of purchase.

Important Information

Plan ahead:

Eating a healthy breakfast, being rested and hydrated will help lead to an enjoyable experience while at the resort, for both you and your child.

Talk with your child before their lesson about skiing or snowboarding. There are plenty of videos online to get them excited!

Keep a few nut-free snacks in their pocket to keep your child’s energy level high while in their lesson.

Children will need waterproof jackets, waterproof pants and waterproof gloves (mittens are preferable for younger children), goggles or sunglasses with UV protection, and sunscreen of at least SPF 15.

Say goodbye for the day:

Please inform your child/children that they will be away from you for the duration of their lesson.

We recommend that you say your goodbyes quickly at check-in and let the staff work their magic. Children tend to transition much faster once parents are out of sight, both in the check in area and on the slopes.

We encourage parents to watch all lessons from a distance. Please don’t call out or distract your child while they are in their lesson.

Tips for comfort and safety:

Dress your child in layers so they can remove jackets, under layers and sweaters if they feel warm.

Wear water-resistant clothes to stay warm and dry. We do not recommend wearing cotton outerwear, including jeans. Children will not be admitted into the lesson if they do not have waterproof clothing.

Wear only one pair of calf-high socks, preferably those made from wool or another water-resistant material.

Arizona Snowbowl’s high elevation amplifies the impact of the sun. Be sure to wear sunscreen and lip balm with sun protection, and bring a pair of sunglasses or ski goggles, which will also help reduce the glare from the snow.

Helmets are recommended for all participants.
