Our professional wedding planners are here to assist you before your big day! Use this check-off list to get an idea of everything that needs to happen before the wedding day. For those who have at least a year before their wedding, use this as a step-by-step list. Don’t worry if you have less time–use this as a guide to check off tasks before your big day!

9-12 Months Before Your Wedding

_____  Choose your wedding date | Consider the season, weather, your wedding theme, holidays, and family obligations (like graduations)

_____  Create your budget | Consider how much you can spend

_____  Start a wedding binder or folder | This is where you’ll keep inspirational photos, vendor contracts, and any other important information

_____  Select your wedding party | Consider close family members, best friends, and anyone you can’t imagine your big day without

_____  Start your guest list and collecting email and mailing addresses | Remember, around 20% of invited guests do not RSVP to destination weddings

_____  Start researching vendors | Put their information in your folder or binder

_____  Shop for your dress | Consider weather, terrain (for outdoor weddings), budget, and wedding style

_____  Decide if you will use a wedding planner | Once you find the right person, book them right away


6-9 Months Before Your Wedding

_____  Reserve your date with deposits

_____  Choose your officiate ~ don’t forget to research marriage requirements and timelines.

_____  Hire your photographer/videographer | Once you find the right person, book them right away

_____  Book your entertainment

_____  Meet with Snowbowl’s wedding planner to go over your menu

_____  Have cake tastings to decide who will create your wedding cake

_____  Select your florist

_____  Create your gift registry | Choose from local stores or online registry websites

_____  Launch your wedding website | Share all of the important details with your guests

_____  Send out ‘Save the Date’ announcements with your wedding website address

_____  Reserve a block of hotel rooms for out-of-town guests

_____  Reserve your wedding night hotel room

4-6 Months Before Your Wedding

_____  Order wedding invitations

_____  Purchase wedding rings

_____  Buy your wedding accessories, like shoes, headpieces, and jewelry

_____  Schedule your hair and makeup artists | Ask them for a trial appointment before the big day

_____  Shop for the groom’s wedding attire if applicable

_____  Select bridal parties dresses | Consider budget

_____  Finalize transportation | Book flights, schedule wedding day transportation, etc.

_____  Select your wedding weekend schedule | Will you have a rehearsal dinner? What time should guests arrive at the venue? Will you have a next-day brunch?

_____  Start your wedding day timeline | Consider how much time you’ll need to get ready before the ceremony start time

2-3 Months Before Your Wedding

_____  Purchase your bridesmaids’ gifts

_____  Purchase your fiance’s wedding gift

_____  Confirm details with all your wedding suppliers

_____  Mail your wedding invitations

_____  Review playlist with the band or DJ

_____  Plan your honeymoon

1 Month Before Your Wedding

_____  Send final guest count to appropriate suppliers
