New Trails and a Snowmaking Update
We don’t always put the weather forecast in the hands of a groundhog but when Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow earlier this month (signifying 6 more weeks of winter), we were stoked! The snow rolled in on Monday morning and has been delivering off and on all week. To see our favorite photos from this week’s snow, see our photo blog.
While our guests have been enjoying the powder, our mountain crews have been making snow, shaping terrain park features and grooming out corduroy. As a result of their hard work coupled with the new snow, three new trails have opened: Phoenix, Blackjack and Upper Volcano. Sunset Boulevard, the location for our largest terrain park by the same surname, is also opened and groomed.
The temperatures have been favorable for snowmaking and our crews have been keeping the snow guns running around the clock. Next top open – Southern Belle, an intermediate run, that takes you to the base of the Sunset lift.
See our snow report for the latest and greatest conditions plus trail openings. We’ll see you on the slopes!
