Brian Head Resort

Brian Head Resort is the newest addition to the Power Pass resorts. With an annual average snowfall of nearly 360 inches, Brian Head offers The Greatest Snow on Earth®, as well as Utah’s highest base elevation. Covering over 650 acres, the resort has two connected mountains — Giant Steps and Navajo — that offers 71 runs, 8 chair lifts and 2 surface lifts.

Brian Head also offers mountain biking, hiking, scenic chairlift rides and more in the summer. The Brian Head Resort Mountain Bike Park is revered for its incredible gravity fed flow, technical single track and access to hundreds of miles of scenic backcountry trails.

Purgatory Resort

Find out why Condé Nast named Purgatory Resort #10 on their list for “Best Ski Resort in the U.S. and Canada: Readers’ Choice Awards!” Located in the rugged San Juan Mountains in southwest Colorado, Purgatory Resort is only 25 miles north of historic downtown Durango. With an average of 260 inches of annual snowfall and the most expansive skiable terrain in the Power Pass collective (consisting of 1,605 acres, 105 trails, and a vertical drop of 2,029 feet), Purgatory offers renowned Colorado skiing with a down-to-earth, local vibe that you won’t find at the mega resorts. Purgatory is known for consistent, dry powder from frequent storms which are followed by sunny, bluebird days — creating perfect conditions for pure alpine nirvana.

Hesperus sunset

Hesperus Ski Area

A short drive from Purgatory Resort and just minutes from downtown Durango, Hesperus Ski Area boasts the largest night skiing operation in the Four Corners Region, with more than 80% of Hesperus’ ski terrain lit up for night skiing. For those days when you’re still craving a few extra runs and the lifts have stopped turning at Purgatory, simply head down to Hesperus and ski under the stars and get two ski areas in one day! 

Hesperus offers 26 trails on 60 skiable acres, with 150 inches of annual snowfall. Opened in 1962, Hesperus currently features a lodge, rental shop, ski & ride school and tubing hill. The popular tubing area — Marmot Hill — was expanded last year.

Sipapu Ski & Summer Resort

Sipapu Ski & Summer Resort is home to New Mexico’s longest ski season. It is also northern New Mexico’s oldest ski resort, and has been family-owned since its opening in 1952. Sipapu is surrounded by the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and Carson National Forest. The ski area offers over 40 trails, five lifts and three terrain parks. On-site amenities include slopeside lodging, a full-service ski shop, ski school and New Mexico’s best riverside dining experience at the Riverside Café and Paradise Riverside Bar and Grill.

Pajarito mountain bluebird skiing

Pajarito Mountain Ski Area

Located on the eastern edge of the Jemez Mountains in north central New Mexico, Pajarito Mountain Ski Area is located 5 miles west of Los Alamos and was founded by a group of Los Alamos scientists and soldiers in 1943. Today, the Los Alamos Ski Club owns and maintains the 750 skiable acres of Pajarito.

Nordic Valley Ski Resort

Nordic Valley Ski Resort is nestled deep in the heart of the Wasatch Mountains in Utah, and is just a few short miles from the restaurants, entertainment and comforts of the booming town of Ogden. The ski area offers 140 acres with 3 aerial lifts, 1 surface lift and 23 runs. And if you’re not ready to call it quits after a great day of skiing, stick around for the best night skiing in Utah!

Spider Mountain

Spider Mountain is the only year-round, lift-served bike park in the United States. It is also home to Texas’ first and only lift-served mountain bike park. Spider Mountain is located on the banks of Lake Buchanan just 60 miles northwest of Austin, and offers riders 350 vertical feet and nine trails ranging from beginner to expert. Once you’ve had your fill of gravity-fueled thrills, explore Thunderbird Lodge at Spider Mountain for lodging, camping, stand-up paddleboarding and boat rentals at their private marina.
