Installing the Hart Prairie Chairs, Making Snow, and Frosty Peaks

We’ve had a busy week at Snowbowl with major construction milestones, continued snowmaking, and a dusting of snow on the peaks. Here’s your inside look at this week’s on-mountain action.

Shiny, new chairs waiting for their turn on the lift.

The crew measures the precise distance between chairs as they install each one. They also check to make sure the bullwheel is keeping perfect tension in the rope.

Chairs are sent up the mountain as new ones are continually added.

A crewmember secures the grip on the chairs.

On November 8th, Mother Nature provided a frosty display on the trees above 10,000 feet.

Snowmaking resumed late last night (November 7th) and will continue as the freezing temperatures remain.

The snowmaking guns are making headway on Logjam trail.

So far the team has been able to make snow on trails from the top of the Grand Canyon Express down the mountain.

As our scheduled open date, November 17th, gets nearer, construction and snowmaking efforts are working full-speed ahead. We can’t wait to see you on the slopes!
