Bullwheel of Agassiz Lift at Arizona Snowbowl

Agassiz Lift Update 2/6

Dear Snowbowl guests and family,

As many of you know, the Agassiz Lift is still not operating. Like you, we’re eager to see this lift running again — and soon. Please know that Arizona Snowbowl is fully committed to get Agassiz Chairlift up and running this season, yet the fix remains complicated and no specific timeline is set. Soon you will see a crane at the bottom terminal to drop the bullwheel (this is the large wheel at the bottom and the top of our lifts — it redirects the cable that our chairlifts hang from). This is necessary to fix some internal parts that cannot be accessed without removing it. We remain optimistic and want to have the chair back in operation as soon as possible. As we have said all along, we will not operate the lift until it is safe and fully functional. Our commitment to you is sincere and we so appreciate all the support we’ve received from you during this time.

As a reminder, we opened all of the terrain that Agassiz services with hike-to access beginning last week. To learn more about how you can enjoy this terrain, read our update here.

Respectfully,

Rob Linde, General Manager
